Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our operations and maintenance team in Paris. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of complex mechanical systems and equipment vital to our production and testing facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventative and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical systems and equipment.
- Perform in-depth diagnostics and troubleshooting on complex mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Lead and execute repair activities, including component replacement, calibration, and system re-commissioning, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to provide feedback on equipment maintainability and reliability from an operational perspective.
- Manage spare parts inventory for critical mechanical components and liaise with suppliers for procurement.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental health and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvement recommendations.
- Train junior technicians on maintenance best practices and complex repair procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Proficiency in mechanical diagnostics, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermal imaging).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
