Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Matatu vehicle safely and efficiently along designated Thika routes and inter-county connections.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, adhering strictly to road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Collect fares accurately and issue tickets or manage electronic payment systems as required.
- Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle interior and exterior.
- Adhere strictly to scheduled departure and arrival times.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers with their queries and ensuring a positive travel experience.
- Comply with all National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) rules and regulations.
- Manage fuel consumption efficiently and maintain accurate records of trips.
- Handle minor roadside emergencies or breakdowns, and coordinate with Sacco management for major issues.
- Represent 2NK Sacco professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid PSV (Public Service Vehicle) driving license with a clean record.
- Minimum of 3 years of continuous professional driving experience, preferably with Matatus.
- Excellent knowledge of Thika town and surrounding areas' road networks.
- Strong understanding of the Highway Code and NTSA regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and identify potential mechanical issues.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and punctuality.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific routes operated by 2NK Sacco.
- Defensive driving certification.
- First Aid training certificate.
- Secondary school education (KCSE certificate).
