As a Mason Assistant, you will work closely with experienced masons, providing essential support that ensures the smooth and efficient progress of masonry work. Your role will be critical in preparing materials, maintaining a tidy worksite, and learning the foundational techniques of bricklaying and blocklaying. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled masons in all aspects of bricklaying, blocklaying, and stonemasonry.
- Prepare and mix mortar, cement, and other building materials according to specifications.
- Transport and distribute bricks, blocks, stones, sand, and other materials to work areas.
- Cut and shape bricks or blocks using hand and power tools under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, clearing debris and ensuring tools are properly stored.
- Clean finished masonry work, removing excess mortar and ensuring a professional finish.
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding and work platforms safely.
- Operate small construction equipment as directed and trained.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and procedures.
- Learn and apply basic masonry techniques and best practices.
- Assist with the general maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Perform other general labor duties as required on the construction site.

- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding manual labor.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
