Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of engaging digital content (graphics, short videos, animations, infographics) for various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) in line with KRCS brand guidelines.
- Support the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns to promote awareness of KRCS programs, events, and emergency appeals in Wajir County.
- Help manage and update the organization's digital platforms, including social media accounts and potentially local website content, ensuring fresh and relevant information.
- Contribute to content brainstorming sessions, bringing innovative and creative ideas for digital storytelling.
- Monitor social media trends, engagement metrics, and community feedback to optimize content performance and reach.
- Assist in basic photography and videography for local events and activities, and help with post-production editing.
- Draft compelling copy for social media posts, blog articles, and other digital communication materials.
- Support the coordination of digital communication efforts with other departments and local volunteers.
- Maintain an organized digital asset library.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Basic video editing skills (e.g., CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush)
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili
- Demonstrated creativity and an eye for aesthetics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- High level of initiative and proactivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Prior experience (even voluntary or academic) in content creation or social media management.
- Familiarity with the humanitarian sector or local community issues in Wajir County.
- Knowledge of local dialects is a plus.
