Job Description
The Marine Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of marine vessels and associated equipment. This includes preventative maintenance schedules, troubleshooting malfunctions, and overseeing repair projects. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of marine engineering principles, be proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, and have experience managing a team of technicians. The role requires a high level of commitment to safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory compliance. You will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Calabar port facilities, contributing directly to the success of our organization. This role involves both office-based and hands-on work, collaborating closely with other engineering and operational teams to optimize vessel performance and minimize downtime. You will also play a crucial role in developing and implementing cost-effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of marine vessels and equipment
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
- Overseeing repairs and ensuring adherence to safety standards
- Managing a team of technicians and assigning tasks
