Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our dedicated team in Ajah, Lekki. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our company facilities. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be the backbone of our property upkeep efforts, performing a wide array of general maintenance and repair tasks. From conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance to handling urgent repair requests, your expertise will directly contribute to a safe, comfortable, and efficient working environment for our staff and visitors. We are looking for an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of company premises, equipment, and systems (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC where applicable, carpentry) to identify and address issues promptly.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks across various trades, including basic electrical fixes, plumbing leaks, carpentry work, painting, and plastering.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of all facilities, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds.
  • Maintain external landscaping, which involves gardening, lawn care, waste disposal, and ensuring proper drainage.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests and emergencies, troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively for repair and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment or furniture for internal meetings, events, or office rearrangements.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies and spare parts.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, policies, and industry best practices to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external contractors when specialized repairs or projects are required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 1.5 years) in general maintenance, facility upkeep, or a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge and practical skills in at least three of the following areas: plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, or masonry.
  • Proficiency in using common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong physical stamina and agility to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with staff and contractors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all health and safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical or vocational training certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC).
  • Previous experience working in a corporate facility, residential estate, or commercial property management setting.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance scheduling and basic record-keeping.
  • A valid driver's license would be an advantage for errands or material procurement.
