Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on office building infrastructure and equipment, ensuring longevity and optimal functionality.
- Conduct general repairs, including minor electrical fixes (e.g., changing bulbs, switches), plumbing (e.g., unclogging drains, fixing leaks), carpentry (e.g., door repairs, furniture assembly), and painting/touch-ups.
- Inspect building systems, common areas, and individual offices to identify and address maintenance needs proactively, anticipating potential issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff, diagnose issues accurately, and implement effective, lasting solutions.
- Assist with the installation, relocation, and assembly of office furniture and equipment as needed, minimizing disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including materials used, equipment serviced, and time taken, for auditing and future planning.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices in all maintenance activities to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Manage and organize maintenance tools and supplies, ensuring their proper care, storage, and availability, and reporting low stock levels.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in general building maintenance and repairs.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, carpentry, and painting techniques.
- Ability to safely and effectively use a variety of hand and power tools common in maintenance work.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and manage workload.
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with staff, contractors, and report issues clearly.
- Physical stamina and agility to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in various positions.
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and practices relevant to maintenance work and facility management.
