Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments to meet production specifications.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished products, ensuring adherence to Nampak's stringent quality standards.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues, performing basic maintenance and escalating complex problems to the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and material usage.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to optimize production flow.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand complex machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and production specifications.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy objects.
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NQF Level 3 or 4 qualification in Production Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience in the packaging industry.
- Forklift operator license.

- Ability to perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
