Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods to various destinations, following established routes and schedules.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery manifests, and all required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, and any issues encountered.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo as needed, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Adhere to all local, provincial, and national regulations governing commercial driving and transportation.
- Represent Career.supersecrets professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Code EC or EC1 (Code 14 or Code 10 with PRDP) South African driving license.
- Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) for goods.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics for routine checks.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness to handle long hours of driving and potential lifting.
