Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided delivery van over designated routes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
- Accurately track and record deliveries, pickups, and service information.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and interactions.
- Utilize navigation tools and route optimization software to ensure timely deliveries.
- Handle delivery documentation and payment collection accurately, if required.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license (Class C or equivalent)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3-5 years
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks associated with deliveries
- Proficiency in using GPS devices and route planning applications
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar logistics role
- Familiarity with the Atlanta metropolitan area road network
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or delivery management software
- Customer service experience in a delivery or transport setting
