Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a logistics van for scheduled deliveries and pickups across designated routes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and maintain cleanliness.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS and logistics software for efficiency and punctuality.
- Accurately complete delivery logs, manifest sheets, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Handle packages with care and ensure customer satisfaction upon delivery.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or incidents promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (non-CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major infractions for the past 3 years
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
- Excellent navigation and route planning skills
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with mobile delivery applications
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year of professional driving experience (van, courier, or delivery)
- Familiarity with local California routes and traffic patterns
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
