Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company van for the delivery and pickup of goods within Mesa and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling, securing, and organization to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and execute optimal delivery routes using provided tools and personal knowledge to meet tight schedules and delivery windows.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest documents, and electronic records, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal traffic laws, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at delivery points, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist with warehouse duties, sorting, and organization of packages when not on the road, as needed.
- Manage time effectively to complete all assigned deliveries and pickups within designated timeframes.
Required Skills
- Valid Class D or equivalent driver's license.
- Clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted and greater with assistance.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and route planning skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for customer and team interactions.
- Proficient in using GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role.
