Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently plan and dispatch daily routes for drivers and carriers, considering factors like traffic, weather, and delivery windows.
- Monitor active shipments in real-time, tracking progress and addressing any delays or issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to provide updates and resolve concerns.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other dispatch software to manage orders, schedule deliveries, and maintain records.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Respond to and manage emergency situations or unexpected changes in routes or schedules.
- Optimize routing and scheduling to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all dispatch activities, including driver hours, mileage, and delivery statuses.
- Proactively identify potential logistical bottlenecks and implement preventative solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Logistics Dispatcher or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in using dispatch software and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
- High level of organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Solid understanding of transportation logistics, freight operations, and supply chain principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
