Key Responsibilities
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles with various types of goods, ensuring items are securely packed and organized to prevent damage during transit.
- Support the primary delivery driver with route planning, navigation, and adherence to scheduled delivery times, optimizing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness.
- Accurately record delivery details, obtain customer signatures, and handle cash or electronic payments as required, maintaining meticulous documentation for all transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients to resolve any concerns and ensure a positive delivery experience.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and storage areas, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including dispatch and warehouse staff, to ensure seamless communication and coordinated delivery operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G or higher)
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic numeracy and literacy for record-keeping
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with local Brass and Bayelsa road networks (preferred but not mandatory)
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Leaving Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
