Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team based at our headquarters in Levallois-Perret, France. This pivotal role will be instrumental in managing and optimizing complex logistics operations with a particular focus on routes to and from West Africa, including key hubs like Lagos, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods, from origin to destination, by meticulously coordinating various stakeholders, tracking shipments in real-time, and proactively resolving any logistical challenges that may arise. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the end-to-end logistics process for international shipments, with a strong emphasis on West African routes (e.g., Lagos, Tema, Abidjan).
- Manage bookings with sea and air freight carriers, negotiate optimal rates, and ensure the most efficient transport solutions.
- Prepare, meticulously check, and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, customs declarations, certificates of origin, and commercial invoices.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with clients regarding shipment status, potential delays, and provide regular, detailed updates.
- Liaise effectively with customs brokers and ensure all import/export procedures strictly comply with relevant national and international regulations.
- Resolve operational issues, discrepancies, and unforeseen challenges efficiently and effectively, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all logistics activities within the company's enterprise systems (TMS, WMS).
- Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Monitor carrier and service provider performance, identifying opportunities for service improvement and cost reduction strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, security, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization within the logistics department.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in international freight forwarding, particularly sea and air cargo operations.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, customs procedures, and international trade regulations.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., CargoWise, SAP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, in English and French (mandatory).
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving aptitude and decision-making capabilities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience specifically coordinating logistics for African markets, especially West Africa/Lagos.
- Knowledge of other European or West African languages.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CTL, FIATA Diploma).
