Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes for local and regional shipments, considering factors such as cost, time, and customer requirements.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software, conducting regular stock audits.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve logistics-related issues and ensure timely deliveries.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including invoices, waybills, and customs declarations.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to stakeholders and proactively addressing potential delays or disruptions.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the warehouse and during delivery operations.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper utilization of delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff on best practices and operational procedures as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles, inventory control, and transportation management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in record-keeping and data entry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CILT, APICS).
- Experience with cold chain logistics or perishable goods management (if applicable to client's industry).
- Familiarity with local Abuja and Nigerian road networks and transportation regulations.
