Career.supersecrets is actively recruiting for a diligent and highly organised Logistics and Warehouse Assistant to join a key operation within the bustling industrial landscape of Bradford, West Yorkshire. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately store incoming goods, ensuring proper labelling and documentation.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment, adhering to strict deadlines and quality control standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment such such as pallet trucks and forklifts (where certified) safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and data entry into warehouse management systems.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and safe, complying with all health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external drivers regarding logistics operations.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to stock or deliveries promptly.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and logistics functions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift truck licence (reach and/or counterbalance).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Experience with inventory control software.
- Knowledge of local Bradford and West Yorkshire logistics routes and suppliers.
