Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and loving care for children, including daily routines such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and nap times.
- Organize and supervise educational and recreational activities suitable for their age and developmental stage.
- Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times, both within the home and during outings.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, adhering to any dietary requirements or preferences.
- Assist with light household duties related to the children, such as tidying play areas, children's laundry, and organizing their belongings.
- Support children's homework and learning, fostering a positive attitude towards education.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment for the children.
- Communicate regularly and openly with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Be flexible and adaptable to the family's schedule and needs, including occasional evening or weekend care.
- Promote good hygiene practices and healthy habits among the children.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a nanny or caretaker in a family setting (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and highly organized.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in early childhood development or a related field.
- Experience with children of various age groups.
- Ability to drive (a valid driver's license is a plus).
- Cooking skills for general family meals.
- References from previous long-term nanny/caretaker roles.
