Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, meticulous, and experienced Laundry Supervisor to oversee all laundry operations within a prestigious hotel environment in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the impeccable cleanliness, hygiene, and timely processing of all linen, uniforms, and guest laundry, specifically catering to both room services and the comprehensive needs of our staff meals program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial laundry equipment, chemical handling, fabric care, and advanced stain removal techniques. You will lead a dedicated team, maintain stringent quality control standards, and contribute directly to the overall guest satisfaction and operational efficiency of the hotel. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laundry staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Oversee the washing, drying, pressing, folding, and delivery of all hotel linen (bedsheets, towels, napkins), uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Implement and enforce strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in line with health and safety regulations, particularly for items related to food service.
- Monitor inventory levels of linen, detergents, chemicals, and supplies, initiating requisitions to maintain adequate stock.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial laundry equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all items meet the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Manage the collection and distribution of dirty and clean laundry to and from various hotel departments, including guest rooms and the kitchen/dining areas.
- Develop and implement efficient laundry procedures to minimize waste, reduce energy consumption, and optimize productivity.
- Handle guest inquiries and special requests regarding laundry services with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry expenses, inventory, and staff hours.
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in commercial laundry operations, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of various fabrics, laundry chemicals, and equipment operation.
