Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel laundry department, including washing, drying, pressing, and folding of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Ensure all laundry items are processed according to established quality standards, sanitation guidelines, and brand specifications.
- Lead, train, and motivate laundry staff, providing ongoing guidance, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Manage inventory of linens, detergents, and other laundry supplies, placing orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Conduct regular inspections of laundry equipment, coordinating with maintenance for timely repairs and preventive servicing.
- Implement and monitor energy-saving practices and water conservation efforts within the laundry department.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of soiled and clean laundry to prevent cross-contamination.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of laundry production, chemical usage, and linen discard rates.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues related to laundry services promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to laundry operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role within a hotel laundry or commercial laundry facility.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various fabric types, laundry chemicals, and effective stain removal techniques.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining commercial laundry equipment.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and hygiene standards applicable to laundry operations.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory management and record-keeping.
