Prestige Hotels & Suites, a distinguished name in Lagos hospitality known for its commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction, is seeking a dedicated Laundry Supervisor to lead our hotel laundry operations. This pivotal role is based at our Kara Market, Lagos facility, where you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of linen care for our guest rooms, food & beverage outlets, and staff uniforms. As our Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the laundry department, from soiled linen collection to washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution. You will manage a team of laundry attendants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene protocols. This role requires a hands-on approach, keen attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to identify and resolve issues swiftly. You will work closely with other departments, including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Front Office, to anticipate needs and ensure a seamless supply of pristine linens. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel laundry department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of clean linens.
- Train, motivate, and manage laundry attendants, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.
- Inspect all washed and pressed items for quality, ensuring they meet the hotel's exacting standards for cleanliness, folding, and presentation.
- Oversee the proper handling, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and folding of guest linens, F&B linens, and staff uniforms.
- Monitor and control inventory of laundry supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper usage.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on laundry machinery and report any malfunctions or repair needs promptly.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and hygiene protocols within the laundry area, including proper chemical handling and waste disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry activities, including linen count, damaged items, and productivity reports.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments (e.g., Housekeeping, F&B) to anticipate linen requirements and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Address and resolve any guest or internal staff inquiries or complaints related to laundry services professionally and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of laundry equipment operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with various fabric types and appropriate washing/care instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office).
