Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to oversee the comprehensive laundry operations for a prestigious hotel located within Jakande Estate, Lekki. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of linen care, from collection and sorting to washing, drying, pressing, and meticulous distribution of items for guest rooms, restaurant (meals), and staff uniforms. As Laundry Supervisor, you will lead and mentor a dedicated team of laundry attendants, fostering a productive and positive work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and distributing all hotel linen (guest rooms, F&B, staff uniforms).
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of laundry attendants, ensuring high standards of productivity and quality.
- Develop and manage work schedules for the laundry team to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures to ensure all linen meets hotel standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Monitor and manage laundry chemical usage, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Oversee inventory of linen and laundry supplies, conducting regular stock takes and initiating requisitions as needed.
- Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on laundry equipment; report and coordinate major repairs with the engineering department.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the laundry department.
- Handle guest and departmental requests for laundry services efficiently and professionally.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs without compromising quality.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hotel laundry operation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proven knowledge of various laundry chemicals, equipment operation, and maintenance.
- Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
