We are seeking a diligent and dependable Laundry Helper to join the team at a prominent hotel client located in Maryland, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize laundry items according to fabric type, color, and degree of soiling.
- Operate commercial washing, drying, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, or wear before and after laundering, treating as necessary.
- Fold, iron, and press linens, towels, uniforms, and guest clothing to hotel standards.
- Organize and stack clean laundry in designated areas for distribution or storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry work area at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts of linen and laundry supplies as required.
- Support other hotel departments with linen requests and deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor or Hotel Management.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
