Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and energetic Laundry Attendant & Housekeeping Support team member to join a leading hotel in Ngoma, Eastern Province. This essential role is the backbone of our hotel’s commitment to impeccable guest experiences, ensuring all linens and uniforms are pristine and readily available. You will be a vital part of the housekeeping department, not only managing laundry operations with precision and efficiency but also providing crucial support to the wider housekeeping team as needed.
Your day will involve operating industrial washing and drying machines, sorting, folding, and organizing a continuous flow of towels, sheets, and staff uniforms. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure that every item meets our high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Beyond the laundry room, you will collaborate closely with housekeepers, assisting with the stocking of trolleys, moving supplies, and contributing to the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the hotel’s public and back-of-house areas. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and irons, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press all hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Inspect all items for damage, stains, or wear, reporting issues to supervisors and handling them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate inventory of laundry supplies and report needs to management.
- Ensure the laundry area is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
- Assist the housekeeping team with stocking linen closets, moving supplies, and transporting clean linens to various departments.
- Support general housekeeping duties as required, including cleaning public areas, staff rooms, or assisting with room preparation during peak periods.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
