Join our dynamic hospitality team in the heart of Ikoyi, Lagos, as a dedicated Laundry Attendant specializing in hotel housekeeping. You will be responsible for the entire laundry process, from sorting and washing to drying, ironing, folding, and delivering various items. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, press, fold, and store all hotel linens, towels, guest clothing, and staff uniforms according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain industrial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor laundry supply levels, report shortages, and assist with inventory management.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, or wear and tear, and take appropriate action (e.g., re-wash, repair, or discard).
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures, including proper use of chemicals and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry room environment at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
- Assist with the delivery of clean linen to various departments and guest rooms as needed.
- Communicate effectively with housekeeping and other hotel staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Handle guest inquiries or special requests related to laundry services with professionalism and discretion.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags and stand for extended periods.
- Meticulous attention to detail for quality control and spotting imperfections.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to manage inventory and understand safety guidelines.
