Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron all hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry items according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain industrial washing, drying, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, and wear, reporting any issues to supervisors or relevant departments.
- Ensure laundry supplies (detergents, softeners, stain removers) are accurately stocked, properly stored, and efficiently utilized, managing inventory levels as required.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and waste disposal, within the laundry area.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including machines, folding stations, and surrounding areas, at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety hazards promptly to the engineering or housekeeping manager.
- Assist in linen distribution to various hotel departments (e.g., F&B, rooms) and collection of soiled items as required.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting colleagues and communicating effectively to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and efficiently, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, pristine laundry.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags (up to 25 kg) and operate machinery.
- Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and their safe handling procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures diligently and consistently.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel environment.
- Familiarity with various fabric types and appropriate washing/drying methods.
- Knowledge of basic laundry machine operation and minor troubleshooting.
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
