Are you a meticulous and diligent individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining impeccable standards? Steigenberger Hotels AG, a beacon of luxury hospitality, is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to join our esteemed team at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our guests and hotel operations always have access to the highest quality linens and uniforms. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to efficiency will directly contribute to the seamless operation of our hotel, upholding the pristine image our guests expect. You will be responsible for the full cycle of laundry processing, from the careful sorting of incoming items and operating industrial washing and drying machines, to precise folding, pressing, and organizing a wide array of fabrics including guest linens, restaurant napkins, and staff uniforms. This role requires precision, a good understanding of various laundry equipment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team within our Housekeeping department. Your contribution will be crucial in maintaining the hygienic and aesthetic standards that define the Steigenberger experience, providing fresh, clean, and perfectly presented items for every aspect of our guest services and staff requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Sort all soiled laundry items by color, fabric type, and level of soiling.
- Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironers according to specified instructions and safety guidelines.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, and wear before and after laundering, treating stains as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens, towels, uniforms, and other textile items neatly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of linen usage and stock levels.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Ensure all laundry areas are kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
- Assist with the distribution of clean laundry to various hotel departments as needed.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy laundry bags (up to 25 kg) frequently.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality output.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of German or English language for communication within the team.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- A proactive and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a hotel laundry, commercial laundry, or similar service environment.
- Familiarity with various types of laundry chemicals and their safe application.
- Knowledge of operating industrial laundry machinery.
