You will be responsible for operating various laundry equipment, managing inventory, and adhering strictly to hygiene and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize soiled laundry items (linens, towels, uniforms, guest laundry) according to fabric type, color, and required washing procedures.
- Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring correct settings are used for different items.
- Load and unload laundry machines, adhering to capacity guidelines to prevent damage and ensure thorough cleaning.
- Fold, press, and neatly stack clean laundry, preparing it for distribution to guest rooms, restaurants, and other hotel departments.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, or wear, reporting any issues to the Laundry Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment, floors, and storage shelves.
- Monitor and manage laundry supplies, such as detergents, softeners, and stain removers, informing the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and waste disposal.
- Assist with inventory counts of linen and uniforms as required.
- Cooperate with other hotel departments to ensure timely delivery of clean laundry.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to laundry operations and employee conduct.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags and carts.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness and quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding of laundry equipment operation (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
