Are you meticulous, energetic, and take pride in delivering sparkling clean results? Eko Hotels & Suites is seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our vibrant Housekeeping team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring all hotel linen, towels, and guest laundry are processed to the highest standards of cleanliness and freshness, contributing directly to our guests’ comfort and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize soiled laundry items (linens, towels, uniforms, guest garments) according to fabric type, color, and required wash cycles.
- Operate and monitor industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring correct temperatures and cycles are used.
- Apply appropriate detergents, bleaches, and stain removers, adhering to safety guidelines and product instructions.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and quality, promptly addressing any issues.
- Fold, press, and neatly organize clean linen, towels, and uniforms, preparing them for distribution to various hotel departments or guest rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment, floors, and storage spaces.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations, particularly regarding hygiene and equipment operation.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and report low stock levels to supervisors.
- Provide respectful and efficient service for guest laundry requests, ensuring timely delivery.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions and safety guidelines in English.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy laundry bags (up to 20kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a laundry facility, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with operating industrial laundry equipment.
- Basic knowledge of fabric care and stain removal techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
