Career.supersecrets is seeking a diligent and reliable Laundry Assistant to join a reputable hotel partner located in the vibrant Ojota, Kosofe area. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize soiled laundry items, including linens, towels, uniforms, and guest personal items, according to fabric type, color, and required wash cycles.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and ironers safely and efficiently, following established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect all laundered items for stains, damage, and wear, ensuring all items meet the hotel's quality standards before being returned to circulation.
- Perform minor stain removal treatments using appropriate chemicals and techniques to salvage items where possible.
- Fold, press, and organize clean laundry for storage and distribution to various hotel departments and guest rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment, floors, and storage shelves, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor laundry supplies inventory and report shortages to the supervisor to ensure continuous operation.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety procedures, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy laundry bags and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to cleaning and sorting.
- Basic literacy and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
