Key Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for various tests, including blood, urine, and other biological samples, following established protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks such as media preparation, reagent formulation, and equipment sterilization.
- Assist medical technologists and scientists with test procedures, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Maintain and clean laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments regularly to ensure optimal functionality and sterility.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including tracking supplies, reagents, and consumables, and initiating replenishment orders.
- Record and log sample information accurately into the laboratory information system (LIS) or manual logbooks.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, quality control standards, and infection prevention protocols at all times.
- Dispose of biohazardous waste and other laboratory waste according to institutional and regulatory standards.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the laboratory.
- Handle and store chemicals and reagents safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Provide general administrative support to the laboratory department as needed, including filing and data entry.
