Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory experiments and tests accurately, following established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions with precision, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting minor issues, and reporting major malfunctions.
- Record, document, and analyze experimental data meticulously, ensuring integrity and adherence to data management guidelines.
- Assist senior scientists and researchers in various R&D projects, contributing to experimental design and execution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, strictly adhering to all safety regulations and waste disposal protocols.
- Monitor inventory of lab supplies and chemicals, placing orders as needed to ensure continuous operation.
- Conduct literature reviews and assist in research to support ongoing projects and experimental planning.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing insights and discussing experimental results.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and assist in quality assurance procedures.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data entry and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hands-on experience in a research or academic laboratory setting (e.g., through internships, projects, or academic labs).
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
