Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers and scientists in conducting experiments and research projects.
- Prepare and process samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pH meters, spectrophotometers, and microscopes.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks including solution preparation, media formulation, and glassware sterilization.
- Record, organize, and analyze experimental data accurately and meticulously.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with established protocols and safety regulations.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and reagents, and tracking stock levels.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment malfunctions and report complex issues to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in basic laboratory equipment operation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or academic project experience in a research or analytical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with data entry and basic statistical analysis tools.
