Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and in good working order.
- Assist senior scientists and researchers with experimental setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, analyses, and experiments following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Accurately record, compile, and organize experimental data, observations, and results.
- Prepare chemical reagents, solutions, and media according to specified formulas.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of laboratory supplies and assist with ordering new stock.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Dispose of laboratory waste materials responsibly and in compliance with environmental standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing insights and contributing to problem-solving.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Strong understanding of basic laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in data recording and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently when required.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
