Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers and lab personnel in setting up and conducting experiments.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and equipment according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently.
- Record and organize experimental data and observations meticulously in lab notebooks and digital formats.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, orderliness, and ensure proper sterilization of equipment.
- Monitor inventory of lab supplies, chemicals, and reagents, and report needs for restocking.
- Operate and calibrate basic laboratory instruments and equipment under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding experimental results and project progress.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report complex problems to senior staff.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and safety procedures
- Proficiency in data recording and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently as well as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field
