You will be responsible for preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, performing routine analyses, and meticulously documenting all procedures and results. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare reagents, media, and samples for experiments with precision and accuracy.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Collect, record, and organize experimental data meticulously in lab notebooks and electronic systems.
- Assist senior researchers and scientists with experimental setup and execution.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality control standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and proper storage of chemicals and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.
- Conduct preliminary data analysis and present findings as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even academic or internship) in a research or industrial laboratory setting.
