Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation for experiments according to standard operating procedures.
- Assist senior researchers and scientists in conducting experiments, meticulously collecting, and accurately recording data.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, analyses, and assays following established protocols and quality control measures.
- Maintain detailed, organized, and legible laboratory records, notebooks, and digital logs for all experiments.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, reagents, and biological samples in strict accordance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory glassware, tools, and work areas to prevent contamination and ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies inventory, initiating procurement requests when necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, identify minor malfunctions, and report complex issues promptly to senior staff.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and ethical guidelines, promoting a safe working environment.
- Contribute to the general upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of the laboratory environment, fostering a productive workspace.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a closely related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of general laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling, and waste disposal protocols.
- Proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and pH meters.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and data sets effectively.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, experimental designs, and detailed protocols accurately and consistently.
