Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashers and wash pots, pans, and cutlery by hand when necessary, ensuring all items are sparkling clean and properly stored.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including floors, walls, work surfaces, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
- Manage waste, including emptying bins, ensuring proper segregation, and preparing waste for disposal.
- Receive and store deliveries, rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure proper inventory management.
- Support the culinary team during busy service periods, ensuring a continuous supply of clean equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards within the kitchen.
- Assist with deep cleaning tasks during quieter periods or at the end of shifts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the Head Chef or Manager promptly.
