As a Kitchen Assistant specializing in restaurant duties, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our busy hotel kitchen, ensuring our chefs have everything they need to create delicious meals, and that our kitchen adheres to the highest standards of hygiene and efficiency. You will be actively involved in basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the front-of-house team with meal service as required. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and sweeping/mopping floors.
- Support the serving staff with plating and presentation of dishes during peak service hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and communicate needs to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Receive and properly store deliveries, ensuring all items are checked for quality and freshness.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas for various restaurant services.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen management to ensure smooth operation.
