Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the residential estate premises to deter unauthorized activities and ensure the security of all areas, including perimeter checks and common facilities.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems diligently, reporting any suspicious activities, security breaches, or unusual occurrences promptly to the supervisor.
- Control access points for residents, visitors, and contractors, meticulously verifying identities, issuing temporary passes, and maintaining accurate entry/exit logs.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to alarms, emergency calls, and disturbances, following established procedures for incident management and first response.
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily logs of all security incidents, patrol activities, visitor information, and other relevant observations.
- Assist residents and visitors with inquiries, providing directions, and maintaining a helpful, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Enforce estate rules and regulations consistently, ensuring a safe, orderly, and harmonious living environment for all occupants.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow security personnel, estate management, and local law enforcement agencies when necessary to address security concerns.
- Undertake initial investigation and detailed reporting of security incidents, accidents, or property damage, collecting evidence and statements as required.
- Actively participate in regular training sessions and drills to enhance security knowledge, skills, and emergency preparedness.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a security-related role or relevant military/paramilitary service.
- Basic understanding of security protocols, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent observational skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify potential threats.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with residents and colleagues.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective under pressure during stressful situations or emergencies.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and perform occasional strenuous tasks.
- High sense of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English effectively to comprehend instructions and complete reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND or equivalent qualification in any field.
- Previous experience specifically in residential security or a similar private estate environment.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
- Proficiency in local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) to communicate effectively with a diverse community.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations for logging incidents and monitoring security systems.
