Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist or senior Technologist.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date patient medication records and profiles.
- Assist in the procurement, storage, and inventory management of pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels and expiry date monitoring.
- Provide basic patient counseling on medication use, dosage, and potential side effects in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strictly adhere to all established pharmaceutical policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area and dispensing workstations.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities and internal training programs.
- Support the wider healthcare team in delivering excellent patient care and service.
Required Skills
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) of Kenya.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record management.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or practical attachment experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with common pharmaceutical dispensing software.
- Knowledge of essential drug lists and common Kenyan health conditions.
