You will work closely with the Head Laundry Supervisor, gaining hands-on experience in managing daily operations, upholding strict hygiene standards, and overseeing a small team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Laundry Supervisor in managing daily laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and folding of all linen.
- Supervise and provide guidance to laundry attendants, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to required standards.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing linen for quality, cleanliness, and damage, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment safely and effectively, including washers, dryers, and pressing machines.
- Monitor and manage inventory of detergents, chemicals, and other laundry supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and hotel policies.
- Assist in training new laundry staff members on operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of linen movement, repairs, and chemical usage.
- Ensure timely delivery of clean linen to various hotel departments (e.g., Housekeeping, F&B).
- Handle guest laundry requests with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring timely return.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a laundry operation, preferably within a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
- Basic knowledge of laundry chemicals, machinery, and washing techniques.
- Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy linen bags.
- Basic communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- First Aid and Safety certification.
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate a small team.
