In this pivotal role, you will assist in overseeing the daily operations of our hotel laundry department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in the management of linen inventory, the proper handling and processing of all hotel fabrics, and the maintenance of a safe and organized work environment. Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring timely delivery of clean linens to various hotel departments, supporting the Housekeeping and Food & Beverage teams in maintaining an exceptional guest experience. You will report directly to the Laundry Manager, learning invaluable skills in team leadership, operational management, and quality control. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Laundry Manager in supervising daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and delivering linens.
- Ensure all laundry equipment is operated correctly and maintained according to safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks on all laundered items to ensure adherence to hotel standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory of linen, towels, and uniforms, minimizing loss and optimizing stock levels.
- Train and mentor laundry attendants, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Oversee the proper segregation and treatment of different fabric types and stained items.
- Implement and monitor energy-saving practices and chemical usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and environmental responsibility.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Food & Beverage departments to ensure timely supply of clean linens.
- Address and resolve any guest or internal department complaints related to laundry services promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry facility at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel laundry or similar commercial laundry operation.
- Proven ability to operate and maintain industrial laundry equipment.
- Strong understanding of different fabric types and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy laundry bags.
Preferred Qualifications
- HND or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, or a related field.
