Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and motivate laundry attendants, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Oversee the washing, drying, pressing, and precise folding of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest garments.
- Implement and rigorously enforce quality control measures for all laundry services to guarantee excellence.
- Monitor and meticulously manage laundry inventory, including chemicals, detergents, and linen stock, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, conducting minor troubleshooting and reporting major faults promptly to maintenance.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene standards within the laundry department at all times.
- Train new laundry staff thoroughly on operational procedures, safety protocols, and exacting service standards.
- Coordinate effectively with the Housekeeping and Front Office departments to meet daily linen requirements and special guest requests.
- Handle guest queries or concerns regarding laundry services professionally, efficiently, and with a customer-centric approach.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry usage, discarded items, and operational expenses for reporting and budget management.
- Actively contribute to departmental meetings and initiatives aimed at continuously improving efficiency, sustainability, and overall guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a commercial or hotel laundry operation, demonstrating practical knowledge.
- Strong understanding of various fabric types and appropriate washing techniques for optimal care.
- Knowledge of laundry equipment operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to effectively supervise, train, and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality service.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and guests.
