You’ll work closely with the Head of Housekeeping and Laundry Manager, overseeing daily laundry operations, supervising a dedicated team, and ensuring all linens, towels, and guest garments meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Laundry Manager in supervising daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, pressing, folding, and sorting of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Oversee and guide a team of laundry attendants, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Inspect all processed items for cleanliness, proper finishing, and damage, ensuring adherence to quality control procedures.
- Operate and maintain laundry machinery and equipment, performing routine checks and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Manage inventory of laundry supplies, detergents, and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper usage.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards within the laundry department.
- Handle guest laundry requests and special instructions with professionalism and discretion.
- Train new laundry staff members on operational procedures, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry activities, including production volumes, damaged items, and inventory counts.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and efficient resource utilization within the department.
- Report to the Laundry Manager on daily operational status, challenges, and staff performance.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in laundry operations, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Basic understanding of laundry machinery, chemicals, and processes.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- ND/HND in Hospitality Management or a related field.
