Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in diligently monitoring production line performance, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing areas for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct routine operational checks, preventative maintenance activities, and perform basic troubleshooting of production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Accurately collect, record, and analyze critical operational data to support informed decision-making and drive process optimization efforts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company safety protocols, rigorous quality standards, and environmental regulations on the production floor.
  • Actively participate in scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, as well as minor repair activities under supervision.
  • Support the successful implementation of new processes, technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles).
  • Prepare comprehensive and detailed reports on daily production activities, equipment status, and any deviations or incidents observed.
  • Collaborate effectively and foster strong relationships with production operators, technicians, and other cross-functional teams to achieve production targets.
  • Assist in the calibration and verification of instruments and control systems on the production line.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and industrial operations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality assurance, and continuous learning.
  • Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or possession of an exemption letter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or industrial attachment experience in a manufacturing, brewery, or FMCG environment.
  • Familiarity with production line machinery, automation, and basic control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA).
  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
  • Exposure to project management concepts or participation in engineering projects.
