Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians and engineers in conducting routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of Caterpillar industrial equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical and electrical fault finding and troubleshooting on various machinery components.
- Support the assembly, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and overhauled units within the workshop.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately, including parts used and hours expended, using established company procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, workshop regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Provide general workshop support, including tool management, inventory checks, and material handling.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and high-quality service delivery.
Required Skills
- OND/HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Proven ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and a keen desire to learn.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics (basic level).
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or industrial attachment experience in a workshop or industrial setting (e.g., in heavy equipment, manufacturing, or automotive).
