We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Junior Driver to join the dynamic team of our client, a fast-growing transport and logistics company based in Ikoyi, Lagos. This vital role involves providing essential logistics support, ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of goods and personnel. As a Junior Driver, you will be at the forefront of our client’s operations, playing a crucial part in maintaining their reputation for excellent service delivery. You will be responsible for transporting various items, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring the vehicle assigned to you is well-maintained and compliant with all safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transportation of goods, documents, and personnel as required.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups within Lagos and surrounding areas.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good operating condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times, and other relevant operational data.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team, dispatchers, and clients regarding delivery status and any unforeseen delays.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to clients and the public.
- Perform other logistics support tasks as assigned by the supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G minimum)
- Proven ability to drive various types of vehicles safely
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Punctual, reliable, and responsible work ethic
- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading duties
