Job Description

Are you passionate about numbers, eager to learn, and ready to kickstart your career in data analysis? Umurenge SACCO Muhanga is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in an on-site office role. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for an individual with no prior professional experience in data analysis but a strong foundational aptitude and a burning desire to grow within the financial sector. You will play a crucial role in supporting our operations by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of our financial data. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will be instrumental in collecting, processing, and performing basic analysis of data to help inform decision-making and improve our services to the community. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection and aggregation of financial and operational data from various sources.
  • Perform data entry, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Clean and organize data, identifying and resolving inconsistencies or errors.
  • Generate basic reports and dashboards using Microsoft Excel and other internal tools.
  • Support senior analysts in preparing presentations and data visualizations.
  • Assist with data quality assurance initiatives and routine data audits.
  • Contribute to the documentation of data processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their data needs and provide support.
  • Continuously learn and apply new data analysis techniques and tools under supervision.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, charts).
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and a comfort working with figures.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
  • A self-starter with a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field (recently graduated candidates are encouraged).
  • Basic understanding of database concepts or data management principles.
  • Familiarity with financial terminology or experience in a financial institution (even if informal).
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus, but not required.
