Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily processing of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to bank policies.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, statements, and summaries for management review.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts, including bank statements, general ledgers, and subsidiary accounts.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive financial records, both physical and digital.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Learn and apply accounting principles, banking regulations, and internal controls.
- Perform data entry and verification tasks with a high degree of precision.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in a financial institution or accounting department.
- Familiarity with financial software or ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda.
